Supply chain management is a concept that refers to the management of all activities of a company.
This includes all information and knowledge as well as all financial resources associated with the company’s flow related to its processing of goods and services, ranging from raw material suppliers and component suppliers to other suppliers. Control needs to be performed in such a way that the expectations of the company’s end customers are met or exceeded. Information and material flows together with purchases, among other things, constitute a significant part of the company.
Many other departments also manage activities, directly or indirectly, related to the Supply Chain. For this reason, it is important to have an overview of the entire company. Through a project in this course, the idea is for students to gain an understanding of the relationship between different departments in a company and an overall picture of central Supply Chain Management.
